About us
Laura is passionate about Pilates. She discovered it after being involved in a severe car accident that left her with a broken pelvis in 3 places and an open fracture to her femur bone. She was in search for some low-impact exercises to relieve her own lower back issues and came across Pilates.
"I believe Pilates has kept my mind, body and soul balanced. With my experience and passion with this movement, the natural progression was to become an instructor."
Laura is committed to ongoing training to learn new and exciting programmes that she can use with her clients. She has completed internationally recognised STOTT PILATES® training courses in Advanced Matwork and Reformer. Laura has chosen to learn STOTT PILATES® as it is the world’s most respected method. It is used by rehabilitation and prenatal clients, athletes, celebrities and everyone in between.
Laura's main focus is to work with mums and surfers - being both of those herself.
"I know how important it is for mums to restrengthen their pelvic floor muscles and deep abdominal muscles post pregnancy. With good core strength, you will help prevent lower back pain and with strong pelvic floor muscles, you can help with incontinence. Pilates will also help tone those arms, buttocks and thighs."As a surfer, Laura also knows just how important it is for the core muscles to stabilise the trunk.
"Your core is the centre of your body. It is where your centre of gravity is located and it’s also the centre of your strength. It plays a fundamental role in your balance as a surfer. Pilates focuses on the integration of body and mind. Surfing requires this same integration of mind and body."
